Floor mats protect the vehicle interior, but an incorrect or unsecured driver-side mat can interfere with pedal movement.
Check the shape and retention points
Compare the mat shape with the footwell and use the vehicle's intended retention system where available. Do not stack a new mat on top of another mat.
Confirm pedal clearance
With the vehicle safely parked, verify that the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals can move through their full range without touching the mat.
Clean and inspect regularly
Remove loose debris, wash according to the product instructions and allow the mat to dry before reinstalling. Replace a mat that is warped, damaged or no longer stays securely in position.
